Case Study: Installation at a Private Hospital [Nutrition Management Room]

Earthquake safety measures for hospital food service areas

Equipment: Large refrigerator / freezer

Seismic brackets: PS Type

Fixing method: Since there is a space between the floor and the bottom of the equipment, the PS type brackets – Jack-up type – have been selected, because they are easy to install without lifting the equipment.

Equipment: Steel rack (Food storage shelf)

Seismic brackets: KPS5-1

Fixing method: As they were not very heavy, the light-weighted storage shelves were secured to the wall using Anti-Tip brackets KPS5-1 which can be installed without lifting or moving the cabinets.

Equipment: Steel wire rack (Food storage shelf)

Seismic brackets: SBS-N1054L

Fixing method: The wire shelving was secured using “Anti-Tip straps with Gel Pads”, which allows for easy relocation by removing the straps and can be installed without lifting the shelves by utilizing the gaps in the wire rack.

★Customer's voice

The kitchen stores a large quantity of ingredients for inpatients in its pantry and refrigerators. Proper management of these perishable items is crucial. Even if gas, water, and food supplies are secured, a kitchen cannot function properly if equipment and utensils are damaged or overturned due to an earthquake. The recent seismic reinforcement project at our Hospital Kitchen successfully addressed both challenges, providing peace of mind and ensuring the continuous delivery of nutritious meals to patients.
